PROCESSES FESTIVAL 2025

20–21 September
REVMA Cultural Space, Servion 8, Metaxourgeio
Free admission | Voluntary contribution welcome

Processes Festival launches its inaugural edition with a two-day celebration of electronic music, sound art, and interdisciplinary performance. Hosted at REVMA Cultural Space in the heart of Metaxourgeio, Athens, the festival offers a dynamic platform where sound, movement, image, and voice converge in explorations of artistic process and cross-media dialogue.

Rooted in the notion of “process” as a generative force, the festival foregrounds the evolving, performative, and often collaborative nature of contemporary creation. Emphasis is placed not solely on the final artistic product but on the complex pathways through which ideas are developed, transformed, and communicated across disciplines.

A central feature of the festival is the Immersive Room, a dedicated space for acousmatic music and multichannel sound diffusion, presenting spatial compositions curated to provide an enveloping auditory experience. In parallel, the festival's main stage features a wide array of interdisciplinary performances, live electronics, and hybrid formats that underscore the fluid boundaries between music, technology, and performance art.

eChOlapse (2025)
acousmatic composition for 8-channel diffusion

eChOlapse is conceived as a non-linear sonic environment — an acousmatic composition unfolding in loops, detached from fixed beginnings or narrative endpoints. Its presentation in an immersive multichannel room invites the listener to enter at any point and drift within a continuum of blurred resonance and spatial ambiguity. Built on layers of spectral erosion, temporal suspension, and displaced gesture, eChOlapse questions the stability of sonic identity and form. It dissolves rather than develops, renews itself by forgetting, and foregrounds listening as an act of immersion rather than interpretation. As part of this 8-channel installation, the work engages with the spatial possibilities of diffusion not merely as projection, but as composition in itself — composing with space, presence, and the lapse between echo and perception.
